Donald D. Violini, age 82, Of Hunlock Creek, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Guardian Elder Care, Nanticoke.
Born November 22, 1934 in Jessup, he was the son of the late Alfred and Valentina Violini. Donald was a graduate of St. Nicholas High School and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by American Asphalt Company as a paving estimator for many years.

Donald excelled in many archery competitions and was a member of various bow and arrow clubs. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 55 years, the former Patricia A. Oakchunas, brother, Al (Freddy) Violini and sister, Eva Farrell.
Surviving are his loving children, Donna Rinehimer and her husband, John, of West Nanticoke, son, Donald and his companion, Tara Cooper, of Hunlock Creek, grandchildren, Barry, Bradley, Jillian, Devin and Tylor, great grandchildren, Lauren, Brandon, Mason, Brody, Raegan and Hayden and brother, Vincent Scassellati, of Kansas City, Missouri. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:30 am from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main Street, Plymouth. Interment will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Muhlenburg.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 pm to 8 pm.
