Albert J. Broody, age 80, of Hanover Twp., passed into the hands of the Lord Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Allied Services Meade Street, Skilled Nursing, Wilkes Barre.

Born September 11, 1940 in Wilkes Barre, he was the son of the late Charles Broody and Mildred Sidonis Broody. He attended GAR High School, Wilkes Barre. Albert was a former member of St. Casimir's Church, Hanover Twp., and was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville.

Prior to his retirement, he was self-employed as a plumbing and heating contractor for over 50 years. Albert was a veteran serving with the United States Air Force and was a member of the AMVETS, Post 59, Hanover Twp.

In past years, he was the code enforcement officer and plumbing and building inspector of Hanover Twp. for 42 years.

As a pastime, he enjoyed building motorcycles from scratch, receiving many awards for his accomplishments. As an auto enthusiast, he enjoyed attending auto shows throughout the year.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lucy and Charles Laskoski; sister, Barbara Bucholtz; brother, Charles Broody Jr.; and brother-in-law, John Laskoski.

Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, the former Rita Laskoski; son, Albert Broody Jr., of Hanover Twp.; daughter, Susan Broody, of Hanover Twp.; grandsons, Scott Weber Broody and his wife, Erika, of Harrisburg, Albert Broody III and his wife, Ashley, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Jeffrey Broody, of Hanover Twp.; great granddaughter, Fiona Weber Broody; sisters, Charmaine Zablotney, of Swoyersville, and Nora Broody, of Pringle; brother, Peter Broody and his wife, Diane; brother-in-law, Anthony Laskoski and wife, Joann, of Wilkes Barre; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to meet at St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville, for Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10 a.m. Private interment will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Muhlenburg.

Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. for a walk through visitation at the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main Street, Plymouth. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending visitation at the funeral home are asked to wear a face mask and follow social distancing guidelines.
