Theresa "Terry" Kopko, a lifetime resident of Hanover Township, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

She was born August 1, 1931 to the late Jacob and Mary Petrick. She attended St. Stephen's elementary school in Plymouth and graduated from Hanover High School, the class of 1949.

Theresa was a member of St. Stephen's Church in Plymouth until the merger of Catholic churches now called All Saints Parish.

She had pride in gardening, especially flowers. She was a proud member of the National Slovak Society of the USA, the Slovak Catholic Sokols, and the Slovak Heritage Society of NEPA.

Besides gardening, she enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and going to casinos.

She served many years as a committee person for the Republican Party in Lee Park, Hanover Township.

Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Leon on June 22, 2011. She was also preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

She is survived by daughters Marina, at home, and Melinda Jones (David), Florida, brother Frank Petrick (Kathy), South Carolina, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 23 at 11 a.m. at All Saints Parish, Plymouth, followed by interment in Oak Lawn Cemetary, South Main Street, Hanover Township.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until Mass time at All Saints Parish.
