Barry Lee Lanning, age 65, of Hanover Twp., passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at the family home.

Born July 14, 1958 in Loyalville, he was the son of the late Matthew Thorne and Sandra Lanning Thorne. Barry was a graduate of Lake Lehman High School. He was a veteran serving with the United States Marine Corps. He was currently employed as a maintenance supervisor for Onvoo. Prior to that, he had worked for several years in the construction industry.

Barry was an outdoorsman and especially loved hunting and fishing. He was an avid Miami Dolphins fan. He loved his pet dog and faithful companion, Hoshie. She was Barry’s best friend.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, the former Mary Lou, Yakuboski; children, Holly Ann Sims (Russell), of Ocala, Fl, Rebecca Granoski, of Edgewater, Fl, Jacqueline Roberts, of Hanover Twp., and Jacqueline Zamber of Hanover Twp.; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Matthew “Sonny” Thorne (Elisabeth), of Germany; sister, Tami Avery (Robert Sr.), of Townhill, Pa; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 1, at 3:45 p.m. at the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main Street, Plymouth.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 2 p.m. until service at the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, Plymouth.
