John Koprowski, age 75, of Bear Creek, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 8, 2024.

Born September 22, 1948 in Plymouth, he was the son of the late Frank Koprowski and Florence Janusziewicz Koprowski. John was a graduate of Plymouth High School. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility as a corrections officer for over 30 years.

John loved to ride his Harley motorcycle. He enjoyed the outdoors especially while hunting and fishing. He adored the time that he spent with his beloved pet dog, Kajun. They were inseparable.

John was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by brothers, Frank Koprowski and James Koprowski and his sister, Mary Lou McMann.

Surviving are his loving companion, Dottie Malloy, his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Koprowski, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 12:30 p.m.at the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, Plymouth. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Nativity Cemetery, Plymouth Twp.

Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, Plymouth.

In lieu of flowers, contributions, if desired, may be made to the Luzerne County SPCA, Blue Chip Farm Animal Rescue or the animal charity of the donor’s choice.
