Diane L. Laibinis, age 79, of Lyndwood Section of Hanover Twp., passed into the Hands of the Lord on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the Wilkes Barre General Hospital.
Born July 31, 1945, in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late William and Sally Zakrzewski Urbanas. Diane was a graduate of Plymouth High School and had attended Luzerne County Community College. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church and a devoted parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, Wilkes Barre.
Diane dedicated her early years to raising her children as a stay-at-home mom, before later beginning a career at the Social Security Administration.
Diane was a warm, generous, and vibrant individual who brought joy to those around her. She cherished time spent with her family and friends, creating lasting memories through her kindness and love. Diane found great joy in traveling, especially during her many vacations to Myrtle Beach and Disney World, which she held close to her heart.
In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ronald V. Laibinis; an infant daughter, Kristen; and brothers, Alex Stupak and Paul Urbanas.
Surviving are her loving children, Erin Raineri and her husband, Charles, of Bethlehem, Ronald J. Laibinis Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, of Nebo, N.C., and Daniel W. Laibinis and his wife, Melissa, of El Paso, Texas; grandchildren, Sam Raineri, Ben Raineri, Zachary Laibinis, Alexander Laibinis, Daniel Laibinis Jr. and Kenneth Laibinis; brother, Joseph Urbanas and his wife, Pat, of Parsons; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, Wilkes Barre. Interment will be in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Muhlenburg.
Visitation will be Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until mass time at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
