Theresa M. Brozena, age 92, formerly of Hanover Twp., passed into the hands of the Lord to be reunited with her beloved husband Leo S. Brozena on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at the Fritzingtown Senior Community, Drums.

Born December 26, 1932 in Alden, she was the daughter of the late Albert (Czerwien) Cherwin and Constance Kwasniewski Cherwin. Theresa attended Nanticoke schools and was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, formerly St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes Barre.

She took great joy in caring for her family and cherished the time spent with them. Her grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. A passionate cook and baker, she especially loved canning and preparing homemade meals. The holidays held a special place in her heart, particularly Christmas Eve, when she lovingly prepared the traditional Feast of the Seven Fishes and her much-loved poppy seed and nut rolls. She was well known for her cherished recipes, especially her famous pigs in a blanket, which brought comfort and joy to many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo S. Brozena, who passed away December 14, 1999; daughter, Karen LaGrasta, who passed away December 14, 2024; brothers and sisters, Stacia Fall, Jean Osinski, Alfreada DeFazio, Edward, Casimier (Chuck), Henry (Hank) and Joseph.

Surviving are her loving children, Carolyn Clark and her husband, Timothy, of Mountaintop, Stephen L. Brozena, of Hanover Twp., Michael J. Brozena, of Washington, Lee Brozena and his wife, Elizabeth, of North Reading, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Jeffrey Brozena (Emily), Jennie Brozena, Megan Clark-Solender (David), Brittany Reigel (Dylan), Abigail Clark, Kaitlyn LaGrasta (Alexander Smith), Lauren LaGrasta (Jeff Sukkasem) and Isabel Brozena; great granddaughter, Emilia Reigel; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 21, at 9:30 a.m. from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main Street, Plymouth, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, Wilkes Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the S.J Grontkowski Funeral Home, Plymouth.

Theresa’s family would like to extend a special thank you to her devoted son-in-law, Timothy Clark, whose care and support made it possible for her to remain in the comfort of her daughter’s home. They would also like to thank Second Family Care Center, Wilkes Barre, and the nurses and staff at Fritzingtown Senior Community for their care and compassion.
