Mary Elizabeth (Mitzie) Lushefski, age 88, of Plymouth, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at her home.

Born August 26, 1936 in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Ignatius Rynkiewicz and Cecelia Wendt Rynkiewicz. Mary attended Plymouth High School and was a member of All Saints Parish, Plymouth. She had been employed at Atwater Throwing Company for over 20 years.

Mary cherished her many trips to visit her sister Virginia in New Jersey where she found joy and relaxation at the beaches. She had a deep appreciation for Polka music and was a devoted fan of the Lawrence Welk Show. Always full of energy and eager for adventure, Mary rarely turned down an invitation—she was happiest when she was on the move. She especially loved the holidays, which she spent surrounded by the warmth and love of her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund W. Lushefski, who passed away in 1997; sons, Christopher Lushefski and Kevin Lushefski; brothers, Edward, Henry, Joseph, Richard and Casimer Rynkiewicz; sisters, Virginia Migliore, Bernadine Corcoran and Irene Yekel; and infant brothers, Robert and Walter Rynkiewicz.

Surviving are her loving children, Joann Dougherty (Michael), Shickshinny, Deborah Hillard, Dallas, Diane Grasso (Angelo), Swoyersville, Mary Lushefski, Plymouth, Edmund Lushefski Jr. (Maureen), Florida, and Robert Lushefski (Denise), Plymouth; grandchildren, Selena, Berton, April, Brittany, Nicholas, Christina (Chrissy), Brooke, Joseph (Joey), Donna, Edmund III (Ezzie), Donald, Jennifer, Melissa, Danielle, Denise, Robert, Erica, Holly, Angel, Jessica, Ashley and Stephanie; numerous great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a dear family friend, Joe Shoemaker Sr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at All Saints Parish, Plymouth.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Nativity Cemetery, Plymouth Twp.

Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until mass time at 10 a.m. at All Saints Parish, Plymouth.

Arrangements are entrusted to the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, Plymouth.

In lieu of flowers, contributions, if desired may be made in Mary’s memory to the charity of the donors choice.
