Wilma Janet Gryskiewicz, age 85, of Larksville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Allied Meade Street Skilled Nursing Center, Wilkes Barre.
Born April 1, 1940 in Mountaintop, she was the daughter of the late Redmond Lines Sr. and Annie Wetzel Lines and stepdaughter of the late Florence Lines.
Wilma was a high school graduate and she had been a member of the Restored Church, Wilkes Barre. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at R.C.A. Corporation, Mountaintop for over 35 years.
Wilma cherished spending time with her family, especially during the holidays, which were among her most treasured moments. She found great joy in cooking and sharing meals with loved ones. One of her favorite traditions was the family's annual vacation to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where many fond memories were made. Wilma especially loved shopping trips with her granddaughter, Tara—a pastime they both deeply enjoyed. Since the birth of Wilma’s great granddaughter, Somaya, 13 years ago, her life has been filled with immense joy, happiness and laughter. Over the years, she had a special place in her heart for her pet dogs and later came to adore her “granddogs,” Teddy, Sydney, and Gus, who brought her endless joy and companionship.
In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Clara Haybeck, Esther Heater, Nancy Sabulski and Redmond Lines Jr.
Surviving are her loving husband, Edmund John Gryskiewicz, daughters, Nancy Adams and her husband Charles, of Northampton, Pa. and Deborah A. Genovesi and her husband Frank, of Larksville, grandchildren, Tara Genovesi, Frank Genovesi Jr., Chuck Adams, Tammi Gaea and Katie Maguire; great granddaughter, Somaya Genovesi, sister, Loretta Brady, of Woodlyn, Pa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family from the S. J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, Plymouth with interment in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Lehman.
Wilma’s family would especially like to thank the nurses and staff at Allied Meade Street Residence and Allied Meade Street Skilled Nursing Center for their care and compassion.
Contributions, if desired, may be made to the Restored Church, Wilkes Barre in Wilma’s memory.
