James "Jay" Koons of Nanticoke, PA passed away on July 29th, 2025. He was born June 1, 1990, in Danville, PA to Jay and Christine (Lotka) Koons.

Jay was a 2009 graduate of Northwest High School in Shickshinny, PA. Jay was a lover of music, both as a listener and creator. He bared his heart and soul to the world through his music. He was passionate about skateboarding, video games, and great action and comedy movies. Jay brought laughter to all those around him.

Jay is survived by his loving mother Christine and his brother William Koons (Jodi), niece Isabella Cox, nephews Jacob, Zachary, and Mathew Koons. He is also survived by his uncles Mike and Ostap, aunts Margie, Carolyn, Laurie, Lynn, and Heather, cousins Dan, Beth, Kyle, Nick, Chrissy, Angela, Amy, Eddie, Sarah, Casey, Joey, Mikaela, Tina and Flo. Jay is also survived by cherished family friends Christine, Christopher, Jesse and Melissa Allard.

Jay is reunited in peace by his loved ones, grandparents Basil and Isabelle Balaker, Ernie and Diane Koons, Ralph Lotka, and Ed and Joan Dugery, father Jay Koons, brothers Matthew and Patrick Koons, and his uncles Rich, Al, Charlie, and aunt Kate.

Family and friends are welcome to join Jay’s family for a remembrance service to be held on August 16, 2025 at 11:00AM at the LCBC Church located at 667 N River St. Wilkes Barre, PA 18705.
