Charlotte Carpenter, formerly of Plymouth, passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord on Saturday, August 23, 2025.

Born June 16, 1955, in Plymouth Twp., she was the daughter of the late Charles Blackwell and Annabelle Wyno Blackwell. She attended Nanticoke schools. Prior to her retirement, Charlotte was employed by the Wilkes-Barre Housing Authority. She loved spending time with her family and was affectionately known as “Cuke” by her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, board games, and bingo with her family and friends. Charlotte’s unwavering kindness and generosity were larger than life and extended well beyond her loved ones. Her beautiful spirit will always be remembered by family, friends, and those she encountered throughout her lifetime.

In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her brother, James Blackwell; brother-in-law, James Hillard; nephew, Kyle; great-nephew, Bradley; and her daughter Cathy’s fiancé, Douglas Motley.

Surviving are her loving daughters, Charleen Higgs (James) of Mountain Top and Cathy Carpenter of Hanover Twp.; grandchildren, Alyssa, Charles, and Jimmy; great-grandson, Aiden; sisters, Beverly Hillard of Wilkes-Barre and Cora Blackwell (Ben) of Edwardsville; brother, Charles Blackwell (Shirley) of Nanticoke; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A funeral service for Charlotte will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the S. J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main Street, Plymouth. Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Twp.

Family and friends may call Friday evening from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
