Thomas C. Welles, age 73, of Plymouth, passed into the hands of the Lord on Monday, September 22, 2025 at the Wilkes Barre General Hospital.
Born January 8, 1952 in Scranton, he was the son of the late Robert Welles and Elizabeth Joan Haines Welles and the stepson of the late Leo Yocius. Thomas was raised in Wilkes Barre and had attended GAR High School.
A professional painter by trade, Thomas was a member of and proudly served through the IUPAT (International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, DC 21, Local Union 2018).
Thomas cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him his greatest joy. He had a love for dancing and was always happiest when surrounded by music and laughter. An outdoorsman at heart, Thomas enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing, embracing nature in all its seasons.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Donna Melodick, who passed away on July 17, 2017; son, Thomas R. Welles; granddaughter, Nicole Booth; great grandson, Jaxson Booth; nephews, Stephen R. Welles and Ricky Welles; and brothers, Jimmy Welles, Michael Welles, Frederick (Ricky) Welles and Robert Welles.
Surviving are his loving children, Kimberly (Kimmy) Young (Kraig), of Kingston, Tracy (Giraffe) Fowler (Robert), of Sugar Notch, Paula Barber (John), of Edwardsville, Mary Kay (Peanuts) Bachert (Stephen), of Plymouth, and Shawn (Bozo) Welles, of Plymouth; grandchildren, Marissa (Booga), Haley (Shakers), Tyler (TyGuy), Nisa (Penny), Kylie (KJ), Audi (Pocahontas), Emily (Instigator), Julia (JLo), Dylan (Hill Billy Dilly), John (JP), Lauryn (Caboose), Ellyona (Betty Boop), and Natalie (Chipmunk); great grandchildren, Robbie (Magoo), Mackenzie (MickeyD), Joselyn (JoshLyn), Noah (Shorty), Desmond (Mr. Hollywood), Elsie (Pebbles), Zane (Crazy Zane), Iyla (Pointer), Jace (JT), Annaliyah (AJ), Eloise (Weezy), Theo (Huxster), Tatum (Tater Tot), Gianna (Pretty Girl), and Gabriella (Gabby); brother, Gary T. Welles (Pat), of Shavertown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main Street, Plymouth. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home.
