Florence Pasukonis passed away at her residence at Tiffany Court in Kingston where, thanks to loving care, she resided for the past several years. 101 years young, her most important role in life was being a loving aunt to her beautiful niece Maryann Zachmann who she called her "angel" and her "life".
Florence was special to different friends she shared life's journey with and her days were happy while sucking on Dum Dums, eating Hershey Kisses and her favorite Peppermint Patties. Her sweet tooth was legendary and a visit without a candy was noted.
Florence was a hardworking woman who greeted friends and guests with a happy cry, always so thankful for a visit or a treat. She loved to be hugged or just have her hand held. Her grip, even at 101, was strong and meaningful.
Her best times were spent together with family and friends, going to church, shopping or decorating her house and yard for every holiday. She had an incredible inventory of wreaths for every holiday or occasion.
Special thanks to Colleen Flecknoe and a real life angel, Robin Williams who visited her several times a week until she was recently taken by ALS. Also thanks to Julie Domansky and Jonah Hartman who visited often even at times they needed to take the bus. Thanks to those at Tiffany Court who treated her with love and respect.
It must have been all that candy that Florence consumed that made her so sweet. Her smile and bright blue eyes will be missed by all. "I'm so happy" she would cry when a visitor arrived. "Don't leave" she would cry when you left. It's our turn. Goodnight Aunt Florence. God Bless.
