It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Susan J. (Moore) Gawelko, 72, of Mountaintop, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at home.

Born and raised in Swoyersville, she was the daughter of the late William and Josephine Moore. Susan graduated from Wyoming Valley West High School. After graduation, she became a mother and a homemaker. She was employed as a Route Manager at the Times Leader, and spent many years working in customer service at Bank of America.

She enjoyed Halloween, spooky movies, shopping, and spoiling her granddaughter and niece every chance she got. She found joy in family traditions, enjoying family recipes during the holidays, and receiving photos of her family’s travels and adventures.

Susan is survived by her children, Jennifer of Moosic and Matthew Gawelko of Conifer, CO, granddaughter Alaina, brother Gary Moore of Plains, sister Ellyn and husband Richard Herrington of Mountaintop; nieces and nephews Ember and Roger Moore, Adam and Sarah Herrington, and additional family, friends, and beloved pets who will all miss her deeply.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. Jude Parish, 420 S Mountain Blvd, Mountain Top, PA. A luncheon will follow for family and friends at Adelina’s Restaurant, 166 S Mountain Blvd, Mountain Top, PA 18707.
